Job Description
ForTec is seeking a Data Engineer to work out of our Home Office in Hudson, Ohio, two to three times per week and additionally as needed.
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data solutions to support enterprise applications, analytics and business intelligence. This role involves creating and optimizing relational databases, implementing ETL processes, managing data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, and developing data warehouse solutions. The Data Engineer will also design and deliver reports and dashboards, execute CI/CD pipelines, and ensure seamless data integration. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, this role delivers scalable, high-performance data solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Design, develop, and optimize relational databases using SQL
- Ensure data integrity and security across all databases
- Develop ETL processes to ingest and transform data from various sources
- Develop and maintain data warehouse solutions to support business intelligence initiatives
- Create and manage data pipelines using Azure Data Factory
- Automate data workflows and ensure seamless data integration across systems
- Design and implement fact and dimension tables using dimensional modeling techniques
- Optimize data models for reporting and analytics performance
- Develop reports and dashboards using SSRS and Power BI
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Automate deployment processes for databases, data warehouses, and reporting solutions
Qualifications
- 3 or more years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Warehousing
- Knowledge of cloud services, particularly Microsoft Azure
- Strong proficiency in SQL and database design
- Extensive experience with database design, development, and optimization
- Proficient in creating and managing data pipelines using Azure Data Factory
- Extensive experience in ETL processes, including data ingestion and transformation from diverse sources
- Proficient in designing and implementing fact and dimension tables using dimensional modeling techniques
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Power BI and SSRS for developing reports and dashboards
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Certifications in Microsoft technologies or Azure is a plus
