Job Description
The Opportunity
We, at Flywire, are seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Strategic Partner Manager, Canada.
As a member of our global strategic partnership team, you will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new strategic relationships with third parties in the Education sector. This role involves sourcing and launching new partnerships, nurturing existing partner relationships, managing the client pipeline generated through our partners, and identifying further growth opportunities within our current partner network. You will develop a deep understanding of Flywire’s services and solutions in order to communicate effectively with our partners and work with the client-facing teams to identify which clients will find the most value in our joint offering. Our success is dependent on developing and fostering our partner relationships and this role will be a crucial part of our team. We are looking for someone who:
- Relationship Builder & Partner Advocate: Passionately drives partner satisfaction by cultivating strong, impactful, and trust-based relationships.
- Strategic Thinker with Commercial Acumen: Thinks strategically about the Canadian partner ecosystem and aligns Flywire’s global vision with local execution. Understands market trends, competitor dynamics, and partner business models to identify opportunities.
- Results-Oriented Sales Driver: Demonstrates sales tenacity and resilience, consistently pursuing new strategic opportunities and closing deals. Strong track record of hitting or exceeding revenue targets through partner-led motions.
- Collaborative Operator: Works cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Client Success teams to deliver joint success.
- Effective Communicator & Influencer: Communicates vision and strategy clearly, tailoring messaging for C-suite executives, technical stakeholders, and internal Flymates. Skilled in negotiation, persuasion, and conflict resolution.
- Creative Executor: Brings innovative ideas to life by translating Flywire’s strategic priorities into partner-specific go-to-market (GTM) plans.
Key responsibilities:
Partner Management (65%)
- You will be responsible for working with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and regional leadership teams to develop a market specific partner strategy that aligns with the region's annual revenue goals.
- Develop and execute a Canada-specific partner strategy aligned to regional revenue goals.
- Manage and grow relationships with channel and technology partners to drive pipeline and client success.
- Enable partners and Flywire teams through training, SOPs, and regular performance reviews.
- Report on KPIs, pipeline, and revenue share while coordinating with Finance.
- Represent Flywire at industry events to strengthen brand awareness and expand networks.
New Partner Prospecting (35%)
- Identify and source new partner opportunities that align with Flywire’s growth strategy.
- Negotiate and execute strategic contracts with favorable terms for Flywire.
- Create and manage go-to-market plans and the full onboarding lifecycle for new partners.
Qualifications
Here’s What We’re Looking For:
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in partner management, business development, or sales, ideally within the education technology or Canadian Higher Education sector.
- Proven ability to build and manage successful technology partnerships, especially those integrated with ERP and Student Information Systems (SIS).
- Track record of developing and executing joint go-to-market strategies.
Knowledge
- Deep understanding of Higher Education ERP systems (Ellucian Banner, Oracle PeopleSoft, Workday Student).
- Strong grasp of Higher Education technology trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Familiarity with integration technologies and APIs is a plus.
- Knowledge of sales cycles and partner ecosystems within Higher Education.
Skills
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical thinker with ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Skilled project manager who thrives in fast-paced, multi-project environments.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).
- French language skills are a strong plus.
