Job Description
Flywire is seeking a dynamic leader to run our Payment Infrastructure in 2 of our largest payer markets, China & Hong Kong to ensure we maintain our best-in-class payment offering. This means staying on top of the cutting edge in understanding the payer journey to offer the best ways for our payers to make their payment. Just as importantly, it also means staying informed of shifting regulatory climates, managing redundancy across the network and optimizing our payments for both margin and operational efficiency.
Regional Market Management
- Build a comprehensive payments strategy for China & Hong Kong, with recommendations for market-leading additions to our payment offering, optimizing the offering of our existing network providers, while reducing risk and driving out processing costs.
- Become the expert for China & Hong Kong,, with a deep working knowledge of how to leverage the regulatory framework, new emerging technology, and innovative service providers to streamline the Flywire payment offering
- Understand the needs of the payer profiles that Flywire needs to support and how to support the optimal payer journey according to their unique needs (consumer vs. business, student vs. patient, etc)
- Lead business development efforts needed to support the improvement of our payment experience through the addition and improvement of our payment methods
- Develop strong relationships with the banking and payment partners associated with your regional payments network
- Mitigate risk through the management of the portfolio of partners for your region
- Create relationship maps for our partners to make sure we have the right connections at the right levels in the partners organization
- Support new partner acquisition and implementation based on revenue and cost savings targets for Flywire
- Expand the capabilities of our network to meet the needs of our vertical businesses
- Work collaboratively across internal stakeholders in Product, Compliance, Regulatory, Tax, Finance, & Operation as necessary while owning the end deliverable of your stated initiative
Qualifications
Here’s What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years in international Payments and Banking in management positions including most or all of the responsibilities listed above
- Significant experience in a Fintech company
- Strong understanding of international payments
- Previous experience at a global company
- Multilingual ability required (Fluency in English and a good working knowledge of 1 or 2 other languages is required)
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to think strategically while focusing on execution and impact
- Natural curiosity – ability to ask the right questions and engage deeply with partners, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Ability to work independently
- Goal oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit
