In your role as Engineering Manager - AdTech (m/f/d) you will build up the newly created AdTech Domain providing advertising solutions for our partners and customers. 

Job Description

  • Be key in helping Flink to build our advertising platform including product placements, bidding, targeting and the booking experience. 

  • Whilst also building and growing the full stack engineering team that is responsible for the AdTech at Flink

  • We believe in giving autonomous teams a challenging mission and let them build solutions that actually have a strong and measurable impact on the customer and our business.

  • Directly impact the Flink business by providing a solution that allows our partners to bid for and book advertising seamlessly on mobile and web applications. 

  • Apply pragmatic solutions, find the right tradeoffs and seek to reduce complexity to help teams deliver solutions that meet the business needs.  

  • Work super close with your Product Manager to ensure actionable and valuable work is defined for the team

  • Drive external and internal hiring across multiple disciplines, develop our engineering talent into new challenges and roles, establish a feedback culture within the team, manage performance of team members and ensure we retain our top engineering talent.

  • Translate product and business vision into a technology vision and strategy for your team including the architectural direction and execute against that vision with your team. 

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of software (you build it, you run it), including team ownership of monitoring and incident management of production issues 

  • Keep product and engineering quality  high and continuously identify and resolve technical debt, quality issues and gaps in engineering practices. 

  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices. 

  • Create a healthy culture of collaboration and inclusion, lead by example inline with the engineering and company values

  • Focus on applying best-in-class industry practices to continue to raise the bar on providing developer delight and speed of delivery for the teams;


  • 3+ years experience building AdTech solutions with a focus on programmatic advertising.

  • 2+ years experience as an engineering leader mentoring and growing successful teams;

  • A bias towards action, with the ability to make the tradeoffs between delivering outcomes  and making things perfect

  • A strong interest in the actual customer and business problems to solve

  • A desire to build a diverse team that wins together and prioritizes success

  • Significant experience in applying different architecture patterns like microservices, event-driven systems, micro frontends, etc.

  • Adept at developing in one or more common programming languages such as Go, Java and/or JavaScript.

  • Being a good listener, but also argue for the cause when needed

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to deal with change.

  • Highly self-driven, professional personality with an aspiration to excel in your role

  • Capable of taking a helicopter view of things to get the big picture while getting into details when needed, but understanding when it is appropriate to do so.

  • Fluency in English
