In your role as a Senior Agile Coach (m/f/d), you will help the organisation define and continuously improve outcome-based ways of work, visualise and remove systematic bottlenecks, empower individuals and foster safe learning culture. You will promote and encourage collaboration and transparency and build trusting relationships between various teams within the organisation to deliver strategically significant initiatives and help to achieve business and product goals. You will be engaged mainly on a business domain level and could operate across several Pods (2-3) setting them up for success. You will work closely with the product and engineering leaders to kick-off, grow, and support the cross-functional teams. At the same time, you will develop the maturity of the entire organisation by challenging ways of working, decision making processes, practices and collaboration.

Flink is in a scale-up mode but is still less than two years old, and therefore there may be occasions where we need to be flexible to best serve the team and the organisation. This may mean playing a role beyond that of a pure, traditional Agile Coach role and closely supporting the end-to-end delivery of our product roadmap initiatives, which might span across multiple business domains and involve multiple cross-functional agile teams as well as numerous stakeholders.

Job Description

  • Support the ramp-up and maturation of the cross-functional, autonomous teams (Pods and Domains) and set them up for success. Grow the maturity of the entire organisation by empowering individuals and teams to be autonomous and self-sufficient.
  • Use data to paint a picture of the team’s efficiency, effectiveness and overall health. Help the leadership and stakeholders to understand the progress of key initiatives and the team's well-being by providing the right metrics around their ways of working, speed, quality, engagement, etc. Proactively communicate with stakeholders and the wider community to explain what's going on.
  • Be the touchpoint for the team’s health and support Engineering Managers on the subject of performance. Encourage a well-balanced approach to software quality and delivery speed.
  • Help to remove impediments in the day to day operations of the teams you work with. Also be able to take a step back and apply system thinking and help to identify gaps and bottlenecks in order to optimise constantly, become more efficient and create a better place to work.
  • Support the product and engineering leads in the delivery of major features and consumer value by planning, coordinating, and releasing complex cross-team engineering and product initiatives.
  • Propose and constantly improve the discovery & delivery frameworks for teams and the entire tech, making sure that the stuff gets done in the most efficient way. Use Lean principles to eliminate waste every day.
  • Educate teams on the best way to facilitate events such as (for example) standups, planning, demos and retros.
  • Can roll-up sleeves and help teams set up the right processes and tools and drill down into JIRA, Productboard and other tools when needed.
  • Help the organisation to build a healthy product and engineering culture and lead by example by encouraging openness, and transparency and establishing a healthy feedback culture where we celebrate success, and failure and encourage experimentation and innovation.

Qualifications

  • You have 5+ years of experience coaching tech teams to improve their efficiency, effectiveness and ways of working.
  • You have worked in high growth environments where you have been responsible for multiple teams.
