Job Description

As our Logistics Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that we meet the supply and distribution needs of our customers all across New Zealand.  Working closely with the Supply & Distribution Manager and our LPG teams, suppliers and contractors you will be responsible for a portfolio of work which is interesting, varied and critical to the success of our business, including:

  • Performing a wide range of analytical tasks including forecasting; modelling and creating and maintaining models and spreadsheets to maintain contract pricing and budgeting processes.
  • Using your analysis and modelling to make recommendations to the business and our suppliers that ensure we are operating as efficiently, effectively and safely as we can.  
  • Creating regular and ad hoc reports using reporting tools such as Power BI
  • Handling and resolving issues related to supply, demand and/or the logistics chain
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to our processes, models and systems
  • Project work as required.

  • Analytical Expertise: Proficiency in forecasting, modelling, and data analysis to support decision-making and optimise supply and distribution operations.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in budgeting, cost tracking, and maintaining various systems and databases.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify inefficiencies, potential risks, and areas for improvement, and develop strategic solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and senior staff, ensuring alignment and collaboration to drive business success.
  • Proactive Approach: Anticipating future trends and challenges, and proactively seeking opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with reporting tools like Power BI, nd maintaining complex models and systems.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business objectives.
  • Industry Knowledge (desirable): A good understanding of the business environment and relevant legislation to ensure compliance and informed decision-making is an advantage.
