Firstgas Group is made up of four complementary companies – Firstgas, Gas Services NZ, Flexgas and Rockgas.  The names say it all, we’re in the business of ‘gas’.  More specifically, we own and operate the pipes, storage, tanks, cylinders and trucks that deliver natural gas or LPG to about 430,000 customers across the country.

We are proud to be on a journey to help Aotearoa meet its target of net zero emissions by 2050. That’s why we are already well underway investigating low carbon gas options, such as hydrogen, biogas and bioLPG, to ensure that families and businesses can continue to enjoy the reliable supply of heat for production processes, endless hot water, and cooking with a flame.

We have projects in biogas (check out the video below) and hydrogen blending already in hand, and a bunch more that will make a real difference too.  That's why we're building a dedicated team focused on tackling the big challenges of transforming Aotearoa to a low emissions country. 

We have a brand new Analyst position for someone that is keen to be part of the change.  This is one of those roles that doesn't come by very often - you'll be part of the team exploring opportunities and leading change to ensure we deliver on a future that we'll all be proud of.

You will be responsible for providing support and techno-economic analysis, to our team who are focused on strategy development, business development as well as project development and delivery in the renewable gas space.

You can expect to:

• implement and maintain the development of financial models, progress reports, dashboards (supported by our experienced team, of course)
• perform economic and financial analysis to support the identification, screening and maturation of opportunities
• perform market analysis and monitoring market and global trends
• develop and grow as a professional, working with experienced team members across the Firstgas Group business

Ka mau matou I enei pukenga - What we're looking for:

• 3+ years experience in a business/commercial/financial analyst role. 
• Tertiary qualification in commerce, finance or economics or similar
• Strong skills in data and information analysis 
• Experience developing and maintaining systems, models and dashboards
• Ability to provide insights and story-tell based on the data
• Someone who is an active and supportive member of our team, who is willing to jump in and lend a hand
