BBQ 9kg bottles and LPG vehicles are also covered by Rockgas, with a network of more than 180 Refill & Save locations throughout New Zealand.  We are the largest owner and operator of LPG reticulated gas network, located in certain parts of Canterbury, Queenstown and Wanaka areas.

We're full steam ahead at Rockgas and need new people to be part of our journey.  We're on the hunt for a Project Engineer - LPG to join our easy-going engineering team, providing technical expertise and project engineering to support the branch operations, sales and customers, and bulk distribution teams.

The successful candidate will have engineering experience in the gas or petrochemical industry, ideally with LPG, have good working knowledge of the Hazardous Substance Regulations and related legislation, and experience in project engineering, including scoping & tendering and contractor management. The role is largely office based, with occasional site visits to existing and new installations.

A bit about the opportunity.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Engineering support to various other teams in Rockgas including Sales, customers, branch operations and bulk distribution focusing on LPG tank installations and tankers.
  • Design and construction of new LPG tank installations and modifications to existing, managing timelines and budget effectively.
  • Technical input to maintenance on LPG assets.

Qualifications

Do you have?

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree, or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience
  • Self-management skills with a focus on work prioritisation and planning
  • A keenness to learn, develop and share knowledge
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • The ability to communicate and work with a range of people, in a conscientious and inclusive way
