Job Description

Do you enjoy getting out and about?

We are looking for a Cathodic Protection Technician / Technologist to join our experienced and easy going Firstgas team, based in Bell Block. You’ll carry out Cathodic Protection (CP) activities over the entire North Island and beyond, so you’ll need to be comfortable travelling and working out of a company vehicle.  

You’ll be joining an experienced team of talented people who work within an atmosphere where autonomy, teamwork and flexibility complements the challenging and interesting work environment. 

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the charge with CP field audits, pipeline surveys, testing, troubleshooting and reporting
  • Lead or assist in the design, installation, and commission CP systems
  • Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Be an advocate for safety – promoting pipeline safety awareness
  • From time to time, support our field teams with pipeline construction, maintenance, pigging and commissioning.

Qualifications

Do you have?

  • CP field experience
  • ACA, NACE Cathodic Protection Certificate or equivalent
  • Current Full Drivers Licence
  • Self-management skills with a focus on work prioritisation and planning
  • A commitment to safety – it’s our priority, and will need to be yours
  • Exceptional relationship building skills
  • A willingness to learn, develop and share knowledge
  • Confident using MS Office
