Job Description

We're on the hunt for a Stakeholder Engagement Officer to join our busy Land & Planning team for a 2-year fixed term project.  If you enjoy working with people, have 4+ years’ relevant practical stakeholder management experience and a background in Environmental ,Planning or Land Management then read on. 

In this newly created role with the primary aim of keeping people safe who live and work around our pipelines.

The successful candidate will work closely with teams across the business to provide stakeholder engagement, consultation, negotiation, coordination, safety awareness, and support and education services. The role will assist in managing the safe and legally complaint operation of high-pressure pipelines and associated infrastructure, and the protection and exercising of existing FGL and landowner legal rights, obligations and benefits.

Spending time supporting the Auckland and Waikato areas (and further afield from time to time), you'll be comfortable dealing with a range of people including the Firstgas team, landowners/occupiers, contractors, iwi and local government with the goal to deliver exceptional relationship management.  

In this role you can expect to

  • Manage stakeholder engagement in relation to property access, easement and pipeline related activity stakeholder agreements.
  • Assist with unauthorised activities around pipeline easements liaising the landowners and contractors, promoting compliance and supporting the Operations teams.
  • Support good project practice in stakeholder engagement,  environmental protection and planning.
  • Assist with the tracking, reporting and compliance of Resource Management Act (RMA) consent conditions.
  • Promote and support standards, procedures, documentation for continuous improvement of the delivery of Land & Planning activities and business projects.

Qualifications

Do you have?

  • Environmental, Planning or Land Management experience.
  • Strong people and relationship management skills.
  • Current Full Drivers Licence
  • Self-management skills with a focus on work prioritisation and planning
  • A commitment to safety – it’s our priority, and will need to be yours
  • A willingness to learn, develop and share knowledge
  • Confident using MS Office
