Job Description

We're on the hunt for a Civil Engineer to join our talented team in Bell Block, providing civil and geotechnical expertise to our business.

In this role, you can expect to play a leading role in the implementation of the newly released geohazard management strategy for the gas transmission business while providing technical advice to the Firstgas business to ensure the appropriate approach to civil and geotechnical issues. You will also have a focus on supporting delivery of projects from initiation through to completion.

A bit about the opportunity.
In this diverse role, you can expect to:

  • Lead geohazard technical/risk assessment; contribute to options assessment, cost evaluation and initiation of preferred rectification scopes.
  • Provide advice on the appropriate approach to technical Civil and Geotechnical issues, including projects support and technical query resolution.
  • Deliver continuous improvement by recognising gaps, and being able to scope, then steering the delivery solutions
  • Provide technical governance, review and audit for engineering management plans and internal specifications, in compliance with industry standards.
  • Scoping of technical solutions, cost estimation, along with input into multidisciplinary project scope development.
  • Provide field support to the execution of civil project works

Qualifications

We'd love it if you have:

  • A passion for continuous improvement
  • A keenness to learn, develop and share knowledge
  • The ability to communicate and work with a range of people, in a conscientious and inclusive way
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Geotechnical) or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure, land movement and ground improvement/stabilisation
  • Working knowledge of relevant design codes, practices, and statutory requirements
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
