Job Description

Full-time remote position (Ontario/Quebec preferred) with occasional travel to company offices.

To support our mission of sustaining global forests with geo-analytics and forest management services, you will produce and deliver forestry information for our industry and government clients. You will apply our advanced SkyForestTM technology to process remotely sensed data. You will assist with our on-going improvement and R&D efforts and will apply your programming knowledge and technical expertise to improve and maintain our technology.  You will apply your skills in remote sensing, GIS and geo-analytics to provide spatial solutions to our clients. You are a good team worker and can present your ideas to clients.  

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support our GIS and Geomatics team with client services.
  • Produce on-time, accurate high-quality products and maps for customers.
  • Process GIS data and imagery into derivative products.
  • Follow steps to solve GIS tasks and problems related to client needs.
  • Resolve issues raised by clients in a responsive manner.
  • Assist with R&D projects by analyzing product performance and suggesting areas of improvement
  • Compile project reports, metadata and proposals as required.
  • Download, analyze and process remotely sensed data to produce usable products for clients.
  • Create maps with a consistent visual identity as well as presentations, technical papers, or reports.
  • Participate in project teams providing GIS support, spatial analysis, modeling and decision support.
  • Write scripts (e.g. Python, R, SQL) as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate, M.Sc. or equivalent work experience in GIS, Remote Sensing or Geomatics with a solid programming component.
  • Strong analytical capacity and ability to produce quality assessments of our products against reference data to drive product improvement.
  • Ability to work with remotely sensed data from a variety of sensors, such as optical, SAR and lidar.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
