Job Description

The Human Resource Manager will  oversee and manages all aspects of Human resources processes and supports the business in its HR needs, including full-cycle recruitment, performance management, job design, training and development, implementing HR strategies, monitoring HR systems and managing performance appraisal system

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with provincial and federal laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a field related to personnel management, such as Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Commerce, or relevant field.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive work experience in human resources.
  • Exceptional communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills, and ethical mindset.
  • Adept to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Extensive knowledge of HR labour laws, policies, and systems.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
