 Outpatient primary care clinic setting • Responsible for providing appropriate acute and chronic cardiac care by diagnosing, treating and helping prevent heart and blood vessel disease, including heart and vascular disease, congenital heart defects, heart attacks, coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disturbances and heart failure. • Perform or recommend procedures such as echocardiograms, exercise tests, and cardiac catheterizations. • Interpret EKG's and collaborate with primary care providers around patient care plans. • Promote heart health and provide rehabilitation to those who've undergone surgery or treatment for heart ailments. • Prescribe lifestyle changes and medication to manage and prevent cardiovascular problems.
