Job Description
The CCB & IB Business Finance team comprises of individual functions globally supporting the following products - Global Corporate Finance, Transaction Banking, Global Markets along with the Coverage function. The unit falls under the Group Finance department and reports to the CFO, CIB & International.
Key priorities of this role include:
- Act as a trusted Finance advisor on business performance & strategic issues specific to the business
- Providing world class financial reporting & support services, adding value through providing professional, independent & objective financial advice, which assist in the achievement of business objectives whilst complying with Group policies and standards, and external statutory obligations.
- Production of financial & management accounting reporting statements for the functional area of responsibility in line with Group reporting standards, whilst maintaining a robust control environment.
The IB Business Finance function is responsible for all finance matters specific to the Investment Banking business including, but not limited to; Performance, Control, Forecasting, Budgeting & Strategy. In addition, the function provides a key support role to other Group Finance functions; Treasury, Central FP&A, Tax as well as Financial & Regulatory Reporting.

- Promote the organization’s values and ethics in all activities within the team to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the bank.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Assist in obtaining Data and implementing controls as part of tactical and strategic solutions for current time-consuming processes, with an objective to enhance governance, accuracy and efficiency of the output for financial & management reporting.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Reporting
- Assist in current processes to facilitate management and financial reporting and analysis.
Specific Accountability
- Support functional VP & SVP in relation to Investment Banking Financial, New Product Approvals, AOV/Financial Control
- Assist with finance related projects / analysis within Corporate and Investment Banking Finance unit.
- Contribute towards and ensure that Finance act as a key business partner for the Coverage business and trusted advisor on business performance and strategic issues, helping to drive the business forward
- Provide key inputs where necessary on across business management forums; MIS reviews as well as contribute towards value added commentary and insight specific to Coverage encompassing CIB products where necessary
- Assist with periodic segment/ sector analysis, business and customer reviews.
- Perform calculations and computation of Commercial Banking Business & RM Incentives
- Contribute towards the development & rollout of Customer/Segment MIS to support IB globally
- Comprehensive P&L analysis including detailed analysis and interpretation of daily, weekly & monthly performance of Coverage.
- Support team with internal audit to ensure a zero unsatisfactory audit environment
- Become an expert on Group Finance systems (Power BI, OBIEE, One Sumix and T24)
- Support the annual BCP for Corporate & Investment Banking – Finance unit.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Accounting / Finance
Minimum Experience
- Knowledge of capital markets and financial market products
- Ability to navigate and work with large volumes of data efficiently (Excel Macros, VBA scripting)
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Enthusiastic and curious to learn
- Proven ability in liaising & dealing with Business, Enablement functions, Auditors & other internal customers.
- Excellent communication skills with a high degree of personal integrity who can deliver under pressure
