Job Description
The Finance Business Partner - Group Technology will be responsible for partnering with the Group Technology function to provide financial insights, drive cost optimization strategies, and facilitate informed decision-making.
They will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of Technology Business Management (TBM) practices, including unit pricing and service catalogue, while leveraging their accounting knowledge to ensure accurate financial reporting specific to IT finance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in business partnering, familiarity with Apptio (preferrable), and a strong background in finance within a technology-intensive environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Generic Accountability
- Collaborate with business leaders to provide financial business partnering and strategic guidance.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of financials, cost drivers, and services.
- Perform financial analysis, cost modeling, and forecasting to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, including accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial close processes.
- Provide financial insights and variance analysis on financial performance to senior management.
- Conduct financial impact assessments for initiatives, projects, and investments.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Budgeting and Financial Performance
- Monitor & overview financial performance of a given area of activity versus budget and ensure all activities are carried out in line with the approved guidelines while reporting on any variances to management.
Reporting
- Prepare departmental statements and reports timely and accurately to meet Business and/or department requirements, policies and quality standards
- Participate in maker/checker role re the processing of budget adjustments concerning enablement functions by maintaining budget adjustment tracker, preparing adjustment entries in OneSumX and check for the correctness after adjustments are processed.
- Supervise Specialist FTE to ensure necessary accruals are posted for all units assigned as business finance and be a point of contact for other Enablement functions.
- Participate in maker/checker role re passing and verifying required financial entries in the system related to accruals, month-end adjustments.
- Verification of AOV submitted for GLs owned by Cost Management team.

- Adhere to TBM practices, with a full understanding of unit pricing and service catalogue, to accurately capture and allocate technology costs.
- Collaborate with the TBM Office to review and maintain a comprehensive service catalogue for technology offerings.
- Utilize Apptio or similar TBM tools to enhance cost transparency, financial analysis, and reporting capabilities.
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Drive financial analysis, cost modelling, and forecasting to support decision-making and cost optimization initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and commentary on Group Technology's financial performance, highlighting key trends and areas of opportunity.
- Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate the financial impact of different technology strategies and investments.
- Business Partnering and Strategic Support
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Group Technology leaders, offering financial guidance and support on strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and Technology teams to align financial objectives and strategies.
- Evaluate business cases, perform ROI analysis, and provide financial advice on technology-related projects and investments.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including proper accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Work closely with the Finance and Accounting teams to facilitate the financial close process, providing necessary inputs and analysis.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring adherence to internal controls and policies.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar Finance Business Partner role within a technology-intensive environment.
Minimum Experience
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with Technology Business Management (TBM) principles, including unit pricing and service catalogue.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting, particularly in relation to IT finance.
- Proven business partnering experience, collaborating with senior stakeholders to drive financial strategies and initiatives.
- Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively conveying financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Desired Experience
- Familiarity with Apptio or similar TBM tools for cost transparency and financial analysis.
- Additional certifications such as CIMA/ACCA/CA etc. would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of PowerBI and willingness to learn
