Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
- We are looking for an individual to help build the CDS market making business in the region with a clear skew towards pnl generation.
- Someone who is a self-starter and takes initiative - not afraid to assume responsibilities outside the normal spectrum of trading duties, including project management.
- A clear communicator across multiple platforms – ability to deliver messages to wider audiences through presentations as well as individual conversations.
- A strong risk manager with the ability to trade both on proprietary and with accounts.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Day to Day Activity:
- Market making GCC CDS contracts;
- Regularly send out prices for all liquid 5yr points as well as curve prices;
- Commit to proprietary trades to help fund the business whilst critical mass of market making activity is build utilizing bonds/CDS and various strategies;
- Originate trading ideas to be distributed to sales and clients alike;
- Weekly calls with Sales to discuss direction of business;
- Willingness to make presentations and take client calls to complete trades with new users of product;
- Utilise current mapping of account base in region to engage on a daily basis on CDS trading opportunities;
- Checking back office trade queries and liaising with various internal and external stakeholders to build the required infrastructure for the asset class.
- Pnl reporting and confirmation;
- Streamlining Asia business with the local region.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or any related discipline.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum 8 – 10 years Credit trading experience preferably across both Cash and CDS;
- Familiar with accounts in the region especially those who transact in derivatives;
- Strong Microsoft office skills including VBA/Macro development – programming language a plus;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Strong analytical background;
- Experience with Murex;
- Bloomberg User;
- Self-starter which shows initiative in resolving front office issues across traded products.
