Job Description

Job Purpose:

Primary focus will be to contribute to the transformation in the technological solutions and tools for the Loan Portfolio Management (LPM) team for essential monitoring and proactive portfolio management of the GCF loan portfolio post approval / execution and for critical MIS and analysis for management consideration

Generic Accountability:

  • Ensure correctness to run through the existing loan portfolio data to identify incorrect/ missing data as per the requirement of FAB systems and FAB LPMSD
  • Monitor the performance of borrowers and counterparts in the portfolio, including adherence to terms and covenants, and help formulate risk-mitigating strategies as necessary
  • Understanding of basic day to day operations of the LPM and Sales & Distribution team and assist the LPM and Sales and Distribution team in undertaking defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Establish and foster strong working relationships with key internal stake holders (e.g., loan origination teams, coverage teams, Group Credit, CAD, Loan Agency, Agency Operations, Group Legal, Group Compliance, etc)
  • Assist the team to assess and implement strategic initiatives / new products / business development as required

Specific Accountability:

  • Monitor credit trends in the portfolio; detect and escalate notable industry trends and recommend appropriate action to senior team members; Perform sector analysis regularly in order to assess portfolio concentration or trends
  • Be responsible for timely preparation of various portfolio analysis reports for management consideration.
  • Sound understanding of all the financial ratios mentioned in the Facility Agreements relevant to various loans and their drawdowns being captured in the LPM system and relevant LPM trackers.
  • Set up and maintain a covenant tracker for each account to monitor financial covenants and obtain updated information such as audited financials, management accounts, valuation reports, etc.
  • Sound understanding of corporate banking products: Term Financing (syndicated / bilateral), working capital loans (Trade/ Bank Guarantee/ Letter of Credit/ Trust receipts, Global Markets (Fx, Options, Hedge), Cash Management etc.
  • Assist the team to support business plan taking into account the competitive, regulatory and environmental factors impacting the industry and our clients.
  • Assist the FAB LPMSD team to ensure compliance with all Legal, Compliance, Risk and Audit requirements. Alert management and assist to take appropriate action to meet regulatory requirements (UAE & International)

Frameworks, Boundaries & Decision-Making Authority:

  • Functions within the framework and boundaries of Group policies as well as overall organisational and governance frameworks.
  • Authorized to perform tasks as per the general guidance received from FAB LPM based on FAB internal policies and guidelines

Qualifications

Qualification 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Finance / Engineering
  • Strong academic background from reputable institutions in the Middle East or UAE market preferred.
  • Ongoing certification / postgraduate in finance / management education preferred.

Experience 

  • 5+ years’ relevant experience in banking and financial services sector with significant credit and risk experience.
  • Understanding of Legal concepts and loan mechanics, LMA, APLMA and various documentation clauses for LPM, covenants, security etc.
  • Understanding implications of financial accounting and valuation principles.
  • Strong writing, analytical communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working under pressure and strict deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality of output.
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal. Knowledgeable of local, Middle East and International markets
