Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The responsibility of the occupant of the role Manager, Product, Portfolio and Segment Analytics is to support the function Product, Portfolio and Segment Analytics which handles product related requirements of all Consumer Banking Group’s business segments and entities locally and internationally, and the Global Private Bank unit.
The occupant of the role would cater to 5 product streams:
- Liabilities
- Assets
- Cards
- Payments
- Investments
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Generic Accountability
The main responsibilities of Product, Portfolio, and Segment Analytics team are as follows:
Provide timely, accurate, independent, and relevant analytical insights to enhance product profitability across all CBG & GPB segments and units
Act as an independent and trusted management advisor for all matters related to Product, Portfolio, and Segment Analytics
Perform root-cause analysis of respective functions and recommend enhancements to aid Products / Segment teams in optimizing investment spend and other resource allocations
Work closely with leaders across product, sales and marketing to support and implement high quality data driven decisions
Quantify positive and negative implications on revenues and propose new opportunities / strategies to business heads that would enhance profitability
Job Specific Accountabilities
Data Collection:
Use data analysis tools with the purpose of enhancing performance as well as providing feedback for future refinement
Support function team with the relevant analysis by data mining the Consumer Banking databases
Developing and maintaining databases, data systems – reorganizing data in a readable format
Filter Data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code problems
Data Cleanup:
Removing corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems
Data Analysis:
Gather requirements from key stakeholders, retrieve relevant information, analyse data and provide meaningful insights
Performing analysis to assess quality and meaning of data
Using statistical tools to identify, analyse, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction
Assigning numerical value to essential business functions so that business performance can be assessed and compared over periods of time.
Preparing reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
Preparing final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends.
Specific Accountability
Working with IT, and product managers to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
Prepare monthly / quarterly Analytical packs, highlight key trends and meaningful insights to senior management
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in MIS/Statistics or related discipline.
Minimum Experience
2-4 years’ relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 2 years in similar positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in the analytics function.
Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources.
Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries.
Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions.
Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills.
Strong visualization and presentation skills.
