Job Description

Job Purpose:

Work with respective Managing Directors and Executive Directors within the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Relationship team in developing and maintaining relationships with key clients, the knowledge base of the industry, pitches for the business & executing transactions.

Maintain assigned portfolio’s risk profile as per the appetite of GH-FI on the back of Credit and Risk’s framework;

Maintain an acceptable risk/reward balance and ensure ethical, compliant practices and to adhere to sales and service culture in the industry.

Key Accountabilities:

Client and Market Analysis:

  • Nurture/maintain market network and knowledge base conducive to up-keeping a sound understanding of macroeconomic and regulatory environment.
  • Exercise disciplined client approach – understand their credit quality, business environment, strategy and challenges.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Work with respective Managing Directors and Executive Directors within the NBFI Relationship team to maintain/build relationships with existing clients and bringing new business/cross-selling Investment Banking (“IB”) products
  • Examine & resolve credit, market and operational risk aspects of the transactions in collaboration with products and enablement units.
  • Be an effective line of defence of any regulatory and compliance risk in the designated portfolio.
  • Maintain the credit quality of the clients relationships within the portfolio to an acceptable level set by the Bank’s management
  • Achieve individual financial performance targets.
  • Identify & develop cross selling opportunities and increase the cross-sell ratio.
  • Ensure Account Plans are maintained for all key clients.
  • Ensure all clients’ files /documents are maintained.
  • Ensure all credit reviews are submitted on time and agreed conditions are met.
  • Adhere to process KPI’s and, ORM, BCP & Internal Audit requirements

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Work closely with client services teams and other stakeholders to resolve operational issues as required.
  • Manage the onboarding process of new entities, which include information/data gathering and close liaison with the onboarding/KYC team as well as Compliance (if required) to achieve timely completion of the same.
  • Carry out day-to-day administrative and transactional activities such as client calls, documentation follow up, updating pipeline, and any other activities in the unit/team to ensure continuity of work and the delivery of effective and high quality outputs.
  • Manage and follow up on KYC and compliance requirements in order to ensure consistency with the Bank’s KYC and AML policies and regulatory requirements.

Policies, Systems, Processes, and Procedures

  • Follow all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

MIS and Reports

  • Provide input to the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet own team’s and/or the wider FIG team’s requirements, policies, and standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related discipline;
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration is preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 - 10 years of experience banking experience with at least 5 years in relationship banking.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Knowledge of the banking sector as well as Investment Banking products ((ie global markets/treasury, transaction banking (including Cash Management) and loan & capital markets products).
  • Ability to work under pressure and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to analyse and research information.
  • Banking software systems proficiency.
  • Credit analysis.
  • Communication as well as inter-personal skills.
