Job Description
Job Purpose:
This role will be reporting to the Head of Business Management.
This is a critical resource working within Investment Banking Group where the area of influence and operation will include all IBG units, group enablement functions, Other stakeholders both domestically and internationally. The job holder will:
- Ensure the division has the plans & tools required to meet performance targets, aligning to the strategic ambitions of the bank;
- Coordinate the business Strategy Development, business planning, cross functional/regional alignment and change management (e.g., client relationship strategy and planning, geographic expansion, product launches, budgeting, marketing/IT initiatives);
- Manage relationships with IBG Coverage/Products and their business partners across divisions (e.g., Retail, Commercial etc.) and enablement functions;
- Represent the division internally;
- Act as an advocate of FAB and its brand outside the Bank
Key Accountabilities:
Generic Accountability:
- Provide high quality support to the Head of Business Management in IBG and prepare and conduct monthly business reviews;
- Coordinate the business strategy development;
- Coordinate budget where applicable;
- Provide analysis - MIS- and close monitoring for pipeline and key transactions;
- Connecting units with the aim to improve communication and efficiency;
- Manage and coordinate annual IBG Townhalls and offsites where applicable;
- Prepare and Review BSC and goals;
- Follow/manage closely all IT/digital strategic projects where relevant;
- Coordinate all projects and initiatives that are managed by BM in IBG;
- Working to ensure effective cascading of the IBG balanced scorecard to the various departments;
- Coordinate all other requirements in IBG such as events, sponsorships, internal and external communications etc;
Internal Collaboration:
- Develop a close working relationship with all business units within (Coverage, Products, International businesses), Financial Control, HR and other support functions as required in order to act as the liaison between the departments’ on matters related to strategy, change management initiatives, projects roll out, performance against objectives, etc;
- Support the implementation of the IBG business model:
- Representation in committees as appropriate in order to ensure alignment to the interests of IBG.
Management Reports:
- Prepare Management Reports where applicable in a suitable manner for the senior management to enable decision making;
- Review the reports developed by Various stakeholders and provide inputs where necessary.
Budgets and Plans:
- Contribute to annual budget setting, monitor financial performance versus budget, monitor projects / initiatives, cost / revenue ratio, and update the Head of BM on performance gaps with proposals on how to improve performance;
- Review the budgets for key strategic projects and change management initiatives and to ensure budgets are effectively managed and monitored across teams in IBG.
Policies, Systems, Processes, & Procedures:
- Provide inputs to enhance policy and procedures, and develop/ enhance and oversee the implementation of procedures and controls related to strategy to ensure adherence and effective implementation;
- ·Motivate teams and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems (automation of MIS reporting), processes, policies (policy gap closure) and practices while taking into account IBG practices, international leading best practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
· 10 - 15 years experience in a similar capacity with a top tier Investment Bank or Management, Consulting Firm;
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or relevant discipline.
Minimum Experience:
- Experience working in a matrix organisation structure;
- Knowledge of the banking sector, and FAB’s products and business strategies;
- Extensive budgeting, forecasting and business planning experience involving interaction with senior management;
- In-depth knowledge of the banking sector and Investment Banking and Retail Banking products;
- Good knowledge of the regulatory requirements, standards and compliance policies for Investment Banking.
