Automation Studio is the Center of Excellence setup under Data Analytics & AI (DAAI) to drive automation projects. It promotes, enables and facilitates Robotic Process Automation (RPA) at FAB. It establishes standards to minimize total cost of ownership by selecting the right processes for automation and building scalable automations utilizing reusable components. Automation studio is also responsible for overall automation delivered/managed across the Bank.

Job Purpose

Automation Studio Governance Lead is responsible for planning and managing all the automations across the bank, working closely with all teams to ensure timely implementation. Automation Studio Governance Lead works closely with all the key stakeholders from business units, vendors and IT functions. This function is also responsible for automation implementation through external vendors as required.

The Automation Studio Governance Lead is a techno-functional role bearing the responsibility to ensure that right automation opportunities are prioritized for the implementation. The role is expected to have strong grasp of the automation technologies. The job holder is responsible to lead the automation studio agenda in the bank and to leverage these capabilities in order to support strategic business objectives and optimize customer experiences across the customer life cycle. The ideal candidate must have previous experience with automation technologies particularly UI Path as well as a strong business analytical background and also great technical skills, taking a hands-on approach as and when required.

Core responsibilities

Governance

• Lead the implementation of the bank-wide Automation strategy
• Formulate and implement Automation studio governance, standards, policies and procedures

Methodology & Planning

• Facilitate ideation workshops to identify the right automation opportunities. Apply the pre-defined framework for prioritizing list of RPA processes which maximizes value for the organization
• Lead process design workshops to ensure current state processes are optimized using Lean Six Sigma / DMAIC / Kaizen prior to process automation
• Conduct Discovery Workshops across PBG, CIB, International and other units for Pipeline Generation
• Assess Automation Feasibility and prepare Process ID Card
• Ensure that consistent and defined methodology is followed for all the automation opportunities across business units and operations e.g. validate the automation suitability, value(business benefits)
• Ensure Full adherence to BOT security standards and RPA Framework
• Conduct Gate Reviews, define checks and controls and proactively identify exceptions and potential points of failure
• Ensure accurate Adhoc MI reporting, Maintain and Update weekly project tracker and project status reporting
• Tracking Overall automation project budgets and spends on a monthly basis
• Work with all the business units to identify, plan, implement and maintain automation processes
• Review and monitor the overall project plan for each automation opportunity
• Periodic review of inflight projects with implementation partner to ensure on time , in scope , within budget implementation
• Build robust documentation framework and infrastructure to ensure all the deliverables are of consistent quality and are updated including but not limited to process design documents, approvals, automation codes, assessment matrix

Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with IT, Control Functions (i.e. Op Risk, Compliance) and business to  get all the inputs needed during all the phases e.g. application know how/access, Control Sign offs
• Achieve consensus for recommended automation scope across all the stakeholders and resolve challenges, gaps etc.

Financing , Budget and Control

• Update, Review and Monitor the overall budget and per automation budgets
• Prepare periodic reports for management review
• Prepare business case documents for Head of Automation Studio

Capability & Innovation

• Review latest trends and new automation technologies in market place
• Provide periodic updates to Head of Automation studio and potential new areas of exploration
• Drive overall automation training strategy to identify roles and skill sets to be developed
• Drive inclusion of all the stakeholders to increase overall automation capability
• Manage execution of training plan e.g. Robofit Training, Process Analysis Training
• Drive Lean trainings

Performance Management (Automation Studio, Process & People)

• Update, Review and Monitor the overall budget as well per automation process

Risk Management

• Manage overall automation studio risks including identification , control or mitigation
• Provide timely updates/escalation to Head of Automation for decision support

Communication

• Manage overall communication approach, themes and templates along with inputs from the marketing team
• Work with other business units and operations to execute the communication

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems
• Has Automation tool certification, specifically UI Path Advanced certification

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a techno-functional project manager preferably in a financial services organization
• Hands-on technical automation/RPA implementation experience
• Prefer candidates with a good understanding of banking products and processes across Consumer and Wholesale banking divisions
