Job Description

Strategic Contribution

§  Ensure effective cascading of the functional strategy into department business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies.

People Management

§  Manage the effective achievement of assigned objectives through the leadership of the Product Control & Middle Office department by setting of individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff to maximise departmental performance.

§  Lead the talent development initiatives for the assigned department, collaborating with technical/discipline experts and thereby ensure the availability of talent to fit business requirements.

§  Act as a role model and drive adherence to organisational values and ethics by employees of the assigned department to foster a value driven culture within the Group.

 Budgeting and Financial Planning

§  Manage the preparation and recommend the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring all departmental activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

§  Manage and ensure effective implementation of Wealth & Private Banking functional policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Propriety Operations and Product Control

§  Lead the administrative support of the Front Office’s trades and transactions, and manage settlement by the Back Office and Custodian, in order to ensure effective execution of services.

§  Oversee the standardization of frontline terms of engagement, and manage adherence to policies and procedures covering Suitability, Cross-Border Activity, Selling Practices and Code of Conduct, to ensure compliance with standards, rules and regulations.

§  Lead the monitoring of market risks, performance benchmarking and client reporting, in order to keep the clients abreast of market dynamics and trends.  

§  Manage the compilation of profit and loss accounts from products traded by the front office on a daily basis, in order to help analyse trading activity and mitigate risks.

§  Manage Straight through processing (STP) initiatives, in order to help the function optimize the speed at which transactions are processed.

Customer Experience

§  Lead the execution of an effective voice of customer program (VOC), to connect with clients at key points of their journey and understand their needs, in order to enhance retention and increase profits. 

§  Oversee the collaboration with the Technology team and other internal partners, to continually enhance the client interface and experience.

Internal and External Collaboration

§  Manage the design and implementation of departmental SLAs, so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled, in order to facilitate the delivery of a standardized service quality level. 

§  Monitor and oversee external outsourcing partners, in order to enhance the projects’ speed of execution in a cost-effective manner.

Project Support

§  Lead the strategic projects, ad-hoc regulatory & audit remediation projects, and other cross-functional special studies, to mitigate risks and successfully deliver the projects (time, budget and quality).

Continuous Improvement

§  Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

§  Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related discipline.

§  Master’s degree in Business Administration is preferred.

Minimum Experience

§  10 years’ relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 4 years in similar positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in the Wealth & Private Banking function.
