Job Description

The Service Owner of Configuration Management is responsible for the management and oversight of FAB configuration management database built on the ServiceNow CSDM framework. The position provides strategic direction, vision, design and and drives adherence to Configuration Management policies and frameworks to ensure effective and efficient maintenance of enterprise CMDB and Configuration Items required to deliver IT services

Generic Accountability

  • Act as gatekeeper for the CMDB and collaborate across Group Technology teams to ensure ensure processes are implemented and standardized to ensure data quality is optimized and maintained.
  • Create roadmap for transitioning CMDB to new CSDM model.
  • Manages the improvement of discovery processes and procedures ensuring alignment with ServiceNow recommendations for CMDB and discovery configuration.
  • Acts as the CMDB SME to provide support for audit, compliance and regulatory enquiries.  

Specific Accountability

  • Maintains the governance, policies, and strategy of the CMDB 
  • Leads execution of regular CMDB data certification campaigns
  • Maintains the integrity of the CMDB and Discovery processes 
  • Works closely with Asset Management and ITSM teams 
  • Identify improvements with consumers of data whose processes interact with the CMDB 
  • Review CI quality with owners of data 
  • Participate in weekly CAB meetings and ensure CMDB data is part of all changes and is driving positive Change Management 
  • Establish and maintain naming style/ conventions for CI’s to be managed / controlled 
  • Own and manage the process of relationships created in the CMDB promoting best practices for key IT and Business services and applications to all configuration items

 

Qualifications

Essential

  • 7+ Years of Experience as a Service Management process owner, CMDB manager or ServiceNow CMDB architect.
  • Evidence of Implementation and adoption of ServiceNow CSDM at scale.
  • Understanding business service offerings and their functionality in the ITIL model 
  • Comprehension of and the ability to communicate and implement the ITIL CMDB model and ServiceNow CSDM Framework
  • Evidence of strong collaboration skills with internal, external stakeholders and vendors to exert influence to deliver services and processes
  • Broad general knowledge of IT infrastructure topology including typical application, server, and networking configurations
