Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Generic Accountability

  • To work closely with internal and external STAKEHOLDERS FOR assuring all mandatory regulations /guidelines issued from various regulators/third party certification body related to HSES is timely updated and its compliance status is maintained and ASSURED

Job Context

Specific Accountability

  • To ensure implementation and maintenance of HSE&S regulatory framework locally and internationally
  • Formulation of legal register including capturing of applicable HSES legal and 3rd party certification requirements for bank
  • To carry out internal audit of HSES management system at regular intervals as defined in bank HSES management system framework driven by ISO standards such ISO 45001, 14001 etc
  • To ensure that notification and reporting procedures to the relevant statutory authorities are carried out
  • Forward HSES compliance requirements to HSES subunits
  • To identify the laws, rules, codes and standards applicable to HSES function
  • To monitor HSES compliance controls, compliance reporting internally and externally such as Civil Défense etc
  • Coordinating the creation, review and implementation of policies and procedures resulting from new laws and regulations
  • Working closely with bank audit, risk and compliance departments on HSES related regulatory requirements
  • Support with investigations and issues related to HSES.  Ensure that all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported and investigated
  • Help support and formulate and maintain HSES KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant HSES legislations and best practice

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

  • Any recognized qualification in audit, risk/ISO standards
  • Bachelor’s degree from recognized university
  • Lead Auditor qualification in   management system preferably ISO 45001 /14001 etc

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum five (05) years of relevant experience in HSES /handling of HSES regulatory compliance
  • Minimum two years of working experience in hazard identification /risk assessment is desirable
