Key Accountabilities:

Generic Accountability

  • Principal Engineer as part of the Service
  • Ideally through experience you will enhance your skills across multiple specialisations

Job Context:

  • As a Principal Engineer - Event Management, the candidate is expected to be able to operate in a highly independent manner, however always in accordance with direction provided by the Head of Global Operations Centre and Head of IT Service Management.

  • Manage the troubleshooting of major issues with NOC monitoring tools (Sitescope, HP OBM, HP NNMi, Vcenter, Vrealize, ELK, AppDynamics) and other tools (Pager Duty, Service Now etc.) that the bank choses to deploy.
  • Positively contribute towards the resolution of critical incidents by being available during the crisis calls.
  • Drive continuous improvement effort by reviewing incidents, escalations, identifying gaps and iterating on best practices.
  • Regularly attend team meetings to discuss ongoing key issues, brainstorm ideas and put forward solutions to any issues
  • Define and track metrics, key performance indicators to raise the bar in team performance and customer service
  • Assist the Incident  & Problem Managers, Team Leads as appropriate during major incidents
  • Develop high-level KPI reports for senior leadership
  • Ensure NOC PPP (Policy, Processes & Procedure) is updated continuously to improve NOC objectives.
  • Supervise 24x7 shift operations of the Command Centre
  • Hire, train, mentor and develop Level 1 / Level 2 engineers
  • Conduct regular 1:1 briefings with direct reports
  • Frequently assign work to direct reports and to functional team members as-needed
  • Provide performance reviews of direct reports

Qualifications

  • 10-15 Years of Experience in Monitoring / Event Management
  • Has at least 3-4 years of working in Banking / Financial industry
  • ITIL Certification preferred
