JOB PURPOSE:

In this role, the candidate will be managing diverse teams responsible for all aspects of managing Bank’s UAE and international Data Centers’ physical infrastructure, as well as providing structured cabling services across the Bank’s branches and offices.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance, repair, installation and operation of the facilities as it pertains to electrical systems, mechanical systems, capacity planning, project management, new buildouts, and all other aspects of data center facility operation.
• Provide leadership to the local Data Center Facilities teams with a broad set of responsibilities; manage tactical and strategic activities with focus on continuous service improvement
• Operate and maintain Bank’s Data Centers to assure 100% uptime to internal and external customers
• Ensure that Data Centers comply with all local, state, and federal health, safety and regulatory requirements
• Operate Data Center equipment to obtain maximum effectiveness and efficiency (safety, cost, equipment longevity, and reliability)
• Participate in all Change Management processes including risk assessment and procedural development and review

Specific Accountability

The candidate will be responsible for managing activities of the teams while working in collaboration with network operations, security operations and various other internal and external teams and parties.

Functions within the framework and boundaries of Group policies as well as overall organisational and governance frameworks.

Authorised to take decisions as per the approved authorisation matrix.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent degree

CFM (Certified Facilities Manager) or equivalent facilities management certification desired

Minimum Experience & Skills

Strongly preferred experience: supporting Banks and other financial institutions, federal agencies 

 5-10 years of DC facilities experience in mission critical environments with 3 years in a supervisory/management role.

Strong management and leadership skills.

Extensive knowledge of Data Center critical systems, including diesel generators, UPS systems, fuel systems, switchgear, power distribution equipment, chillers, computer room air handlers, fire detection/suppression and building monitoring systems

Must have the ability to make solid business decisions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Must display confidence in critical situations

Team player with excellent consultative and communication skills and the proven ability to work effectively with internal and external clients, vendors and consultants
