Job Description

Manage the integration ESG into FAB’s business objectives, policies and product development by providing advisory and guidance to business and risk functions to help them in developing new revenue streams associated with social and environmental finance opportunities and associated risk management, especially in the context of Climate Change. Setting, monitoring and supporting implementation of ESG commitments to ensure full adherence with all aspects and obligations. Contribute to the development of the Bank’s sustainability strategy and plans to achieve ongoing improvement in performance and brand value.

  • Specific accountability will be in driving FAB’s Sustainability strategy and initiatives, focusing on ESG performance, risk evaluation and sustainability reporting by:
  • Formulating and driving appropriate sustainability strategies and initiatives to achieve FAB’s Sustainability and ESG goals
  • Managing FAB’s Sustainability Framework to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness of the Bank’s Sustainability strategy, compliance to regulations, and international best practices.

This will involve, but is not be limited to:

  • Developing and implementing the Bank’s sustainability policies, strategy and sustainable finance work streams
  • Enhancing the Bank’s sustainability and ESG related public disclosures through its ESG report, targets and metrics including (but not limited to) : CDP, TCFD, Modern Slavery MSCI, FTSE4Gd, Sustainalytics.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • Degree in sustainability, finance, business, environment, preferably at Masters level

Minimum Experience

  • 5 years’ relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 5 years in similar positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in one or more of the following, Environmental Audit, Environmental Impact Assessment, Corporate Banking.
  • Strong knowledge in TCFD, Modern Slavery and a range of ESG rating methodologies and ESG risk management
  • Demonstrated experience of using recognized ESG frameworks I, preferably in  the banking sector, including target setting and implementation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and process design skills, with the ability to translate analysis into actions that meet business objectives
  • Prefered UAE Nationals
