Job Description

To create and lead the new business unit under the Consumer Banking Group umbrella called Payit. As dedicated lead of the Payit team the SVP & Head of Wallet is responsible for the P&L of the business unit, including meeting customer and merchant acquisition targets. The SVP & Head of Wallet is ultimately responsible for the development roadmap and delivery of both the Payit wallet customer application and the corresponding merchant application. The lead of the unit is responsible for team management, financial control and the overall sales and marketing of the application along with ensuring operations are running uninterrupted. The role requires entrepreneurial/business development skills as head of a nascent unit with large ambitions.

Key Accountabilities:

Product ownership:

  • Represent, interface and engage with the customer and act as the voice of the market to drive creation of value adding solutions.
  • Understand the customer, market and business needs and align them with the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Responsible for the strategic management of the overall product department, ensuring schedules are met and risks mitigated.

Product vision:

  • Collate information from various stakeholders and structure it to develop an overall product vision.
  • Hold the vision of the product and is responsible of communicating clearly to all agile teams. Responsible for the product and product features from conception to delivery.
  • Act as the voice of business and be empowered to make decisions that would drive the product development and bring all streams together towards a single goal
  • Set the product roadmap for digital products in development. Align different stakeholders on the priorities and features to be built for different releases

Budgeting & Financial Planning:

  • Manage the preparation and recommend the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring all sectional activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.

People Management:

  • Lead the talent development initiatives for the assigned department, collaborating with technical/discipline experts and thereby ensure the availability of talent to fit business requirements.
  • Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of the assigned department to foster a value driven culture within the bank.

Qualifications

  • 15 years relevant experience in banking/payments setting or professional services relating to it
  • 10 years team management experience of high performing  teams within related field
  • Business unit setup as part of a large corporate is a strong plus
  • Master’s degree in business/engineering/computer science or related discipline
