Chick-fil-A Fulton Street opened its doors in March 2018 and has enjoyed serving the community of New York City. Located in the Financial District of NYC, it is always bustling with activity! The team is lead by an Owner/Operator who began working at Chick-fil-A in Atlanta in 2007 and has been an Owner/Operator for the last 10 years in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and now New York.  Chick-fil-A Fulton Street is one of the largest Chick-fil-A’s in the country with 5 stories including a rooftop sitting area.  Because of the Owner/Operator’s leadership and passion to develop his staff, he has launched 5 individuals who now own/operate their own Chick-fil-A restaurant.  Despite not having a drive thru, this Chick-fil-A is unlike most - with lines out the door and serving over 600 customers in an hour.  In its first year the restaurant did over $8.5 million and has continued to increase its sales.  The Owner/Operator has a passion for growing and developing his 70+ person team into better versions of themselves as they work hard to serve the NYC community.

Job Description

Do you want to leave a footprint in the lives and community of New York City?  Do you have a passion for New York City and Urban Life?  Chick-fil-A Fulton Street is looking for a high-caliber, self-driven and motivated leader who can thrive under pressure to join their Urban Leadership Development Program.  This intentional program is designed to learn every aspect of Chick-fil-A in a unique fast-paced urban restaurant.  During the first 4 months this leader will rotate through the BOH (kitchen), FOH (mobile team, registers, bagging, dining room), Back Office Systems (financial intricacies of running a business), and Branding/HR/Leadership (outside sales, catering, events, interviews, marketing). After completing the 4-month rotation an Apprenticeship will begin in a specific area of the restaurant best utilizing the leader's gifts and talents with the goal of becoming a director in the restaurant. This role is not for the faint of heart.  This restaurant is so busy that this opportunity will challenge any leader to question their resolve, patience, and people skills.  This leader must have high emotional intelligence, grit, energy, flexibility, attention to detail, and a high tolerance for stress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Masters degree in business, management, hospitality preferred
  • 2-3 years of proven leadership experience (athletics, clubs, ministry, business, etc.)
  • 1-5 years of retail or restaurant work experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a city preferred 
  • Desire to care for others. Strong relationship builder
  • Willingness to be trained and developed and then train and develop others
  • Systems thinker and problem solver
  • Results oriented and able to work in a very fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Professional in appearance, communication, and actions
  • Passion for people and providing world class service
  • Servant-hearted, respectful, team mentality

Additional Information

DAY IN THE LIFE/SCHEDULE

  • Monday- Saturday availability | 40-45 hours/week | Sundays + one other weekday off 
    • Anticipated schedule: opening, closing, and mid shifts each month
      • Typically 5, 8-10 hour days
  • Overview: Spend each day thinking for and leading a fast-paced, ever-changing, multi-million dollar business. You will push team members to be their best while delivering excellent customer service. You will wear multiple hats and have your hand in innovation and strategy, vision, customer service, and goal setting to ensure core operations are meeting/exceeding Chick-fil-A’s high standards.
