Job Description

FireEye Mandiant Security Consulting Services ensures the long-term success of our clients by providing talented, passionate, and specialized security monitoring, threat intelligence, and incident management consulting expertise. We are looking for motivated and experienced Cloud Security Architect. The cloud security architect is responsible for developing and overseeing a cloud computing strategy for our customers. This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring. The cloud architect will provide customers with industry best practice and insight regarding application architecture and deployment in cloud environments. The successful candidate will possess strong consulting skills, be adept in leading multiple projects under tight deadlines, and possess in-depth experience in security event monitoring, cyber threat intelligence, and/or computer incident response.


  • Develop and analyze enterprise architectures that provide effective cyber security capabilities
  • Design secure cloud architectures and services
  • Lead cultural change for cloud adoption
  • Develop and coordinate cloud architecture
  • Develop cloud strategy and coordinate adoption
  • Driving cloud-native architecture principles
  • Proactively identify architectural weaknesses and recommending appropriate solutions
  • Serve as a thought leader and mentor on technical, architectural, design and related issues
  • Replacing legacy applications with cloud applications
  • Provide guidance on the skills and training needed to develop and maintain a cloud strategy
  • Aid with the selection of cloud providers and services
  • Architect cloud services and mitigate risks
  • Assist with defining and developing appropriate governance for a cloud strategy
  • Provisioning and automating cloud services
  • Orchestration of cloud workflows
  • Guidance on the management of cloud deployments, monitoring and oversight, and operational guidelines.
  • Evaluate client needs, coordinate design for a solution, and clearly communicate the value proposition of complex and highly technical subjects
  • Implement and/or assess existing security controls
  • Provide expert level knowledge of tools and technologies
  • Interface with clients to address concerns, issues or escalations; track and drive to closure any issues that impact the service and its value to clients.



  • Experienced architect with cross-domain, cross-functional and cross-industry expertise with demonstrated knowledge and skills that are both broad and deep
  • Experience running Cloud services with a combination of onsite and on cloud hosting provider experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Strong understanding across Cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end to end Cloud Infrastructure architectures and designs
  • Experience writing architectural plans, best practices and guidelines for enterprise applications
  • Knowledge of cyber security principles and their application
  • Understanding of cloud data services (Database Architecture, Big Data, Data Governance, SQL/No-SQL databases)
  • Understanding of cloud application development (DevOps, AGILE, SCRUM with Java, JSON, Node.js, PHP, Perl, Python)
  • Understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging trends
  • Experience in preparing architecture diagrams and writing approach papers
  • Provide expert experience in assessing cloud infrastructure from a security perspective and developing security controls to address findings
  • Willingness and demonstrated ability to be hands on and close to the technology
  • Interaction with C-level executives 
  • Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior executives and developing cloud strategy for large or highly strategic accounts
  • Demonstrated ability to share and communicate ideas to executive staff, business sponsors, technical resources and other key constituents in clear, concise language
  • Use formal project management skills in planning, tracking, and reporting on project progress
  • Expert knowledge of various operating systems: Linux, Unix, Solaris, Ubuntu, Windows 
  • Fundamental understanding of network protocols: (TCP/IP, IP addresses, HTTP, DNS, VPN, subnetting, ACLs, VLANs, IPtables/Security Groups etc).
  • At least a minimal understanding of a programming or scripting language and strong knowledge of scripting, programming or application programming interface (API) interaction
  • Comprehensive familiarity with cloud architecture and cloud-native applications
  • Must understand governance and convey governance principles to cloud computing in terms of policies
  • Extensive operational knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud Platform
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity architectures and operations using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions
  • Experience with Incident Response within cloud environments and applications
  • Operational knowledge of security in cloud-based applications such as O365, G Suite, Salesforce, etc.
  • Understanding of security controls for common platforms and devices, including Windows, Unix, Linux, and network equipment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum of seven years in IT
  • Minimum of five years in information security
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

Additional Qualifications:

  • Certification in commercial cloud or cloud security engineering from Amazon or Microsoft
  • Experience implementing, developing, or managing systems using one of the predominant Cloud Service Provider’s (CSP) IaaS/PaaS such as AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle, or Terramark
  • Knowledge of US Government enterprise and network security concepts and solutions
  • Ability to travel up to 65%
  • Provide expert level knowledge of tools and technologies used for enterprise security
  • Proven ability and understanding of the components that comprise a successful information security program
  • Current security clearance (Top Secret or higher)
