As an Accounting Specialist, you will join a collaborative accounting team that works closely with leadership and cross-functional departments, offering strong visibility and the opportunity to contribute to broader organizational success. This is an ideal role for a detail-oriented and motivated professional who wants to play a key part in supporting accurate, efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be hands-on in the day-to-day financial operations, including:

• Processing daily ACH transactions, including returns, NOCs, and settlements
• Monitoring and reconciling settlement activity with the Federal Reserve, corporate credit union, and vendors
• Performing daily, weekly, and monthly general ledger reconciliations
• Processing and maintaining accounts payable, vendor records, and invoice approvals
• Preparing journal entries, accruals, and supporting documentation for month-end close
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP, credit union policies, NCUA regulations, and TCUD requirements
• Assisting with preparation of required regulatory reports
• Supporting internal and external audits and regulatory examinations
• Recommending process improvements and maintaining accurate, well-documented accounting records

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience in a financial institution or credit union required
• Knowledge of ACH processing, NACHA rules, general ledger systems, and accounts payable workflows
• Strong Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

Additional Information

Compensation: $55-64K annually
