Job Description

The Business Development Representative is responsible for growing consumer membership through active engagement with Select Employee Groups, community partners, and local events. This role serves as a brand ambassador for the credit union, building strong relationships, opening new consumer memberships, and supporting long term growth through both in person and digital outreach.

This position works closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience and represents the credit union at SEG events, employer sites, and community activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Select Employee Groups and community partners
• Actively grow new consumer memberships through SEG events, onsite employer visits, community outreach, and online channels
• Represent the credit union at community events, open houses, financial education sessions, and networking opportunities
• Open new consumer membership accounts both in person and through digital channels
• Educate potential members on credit union products, services, and benefits
• Collaborate with marketing, branch, and lending teams to support membership growth initiatives
• Track and report business development activity, leads, and results
• Identify new SEG opportunities and support onboarding of new groups
• Ensure a positive, compliant, and member focused experience at every touchpoint

Qualifications

• Previous experience in business development, sales, relationship management, or financial services preferred
• Credit union or banking experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable opening consumer membership accounts and explaining financial products
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Self motivated with the ability to work independently in the field
• Organized with strong follow up and time management skills
• Comfortable with community engagement, public speaking, and event participation
• Proficient with technology and digital tools
