Job Description

 

This position is technical with both strategic and functional management responsibility for all aspects of IT’s Sales & Marketing systems and operations. This position is also responsible for ensuring optimum system performance, efficiency and availability of all production systems within area of responsibility per established service level agreements, and successfully implementing new business systems initiatives as assigned within required scope, cost, and time frame parameters.

Principal Responsibilities:

System Strategy

  • Provides information for the development of IS Strategic Plans.
  • Participates in the identification of organizational capability requirements (e.g., resources, skill sets, organizational structure) to meet evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with users in the recommendation and selection of projects that have the highest company benefit based on company objectives and available IS resources.
  • Keep current with technology trends and their impact to the organization

Ensures the success of each project by overseeing system development phases, including the following:

  • Developing project schedules
  • Assigning appropriate personnel and resources to projects
  • Coordinating IS function and user resources
  • Tracking schedule, quality and cost
  • Evaluating and recommending the acquisition/development of appropriate software products
  • Ensuring that agreed-upon project success criteria are met
  • Conducting feasibility analysis and defining business/user requirements
  • Coordinating and assisting in creation of user acceptance test plans and execution
  • Application design, coding, system/unit test plans and execution
  • Coordinating implementation schedules within IS and with business operations
  • System implementation planning and execution (including user training sessions and associated documentation)

System quality assurance

  • Ensures ongoing communication within IS and with business operations (e.g., user review meetings for milestone sign-off, obtaining user feedback, reporting on project status)
  • Oversees the tracking and maintenance of production software systems

 

Department Management

  • Operates within budgetary constraints, participates in the development of annual budget forecasts; participates in updating and reconciling operating and budget plans as required
  • Develops and maintains written departmental standards and procedures
  • Directly contributes to development of tactical and annual operating plans, defining goals and objectives for the group

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years’ experience leading and managing Sales & Marketing systems as well several years of prior business experience leading Sales & Marketing business initiatives in an end-user capacity.
