Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Service Manager who will be responsible for providing the vision, leadership, and operational direction to support the mission of the organization. This position is highly technical with both strategic and functional management responsibility for all aspects of IT’s system infrastructure and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish standards, policies and procedures for on-premise, cloud Infrastructure, 3rd party hosting including governance, automation and systems hardening.
  • Develop roadmap and lead design and delivery of IT infrastructure with a focus on cloud adaption (AWS and Azure) using industry best practices and design patterns Platforms and Infrastructure.
  • Instill and establish DevOps model for faster delivery by leveraging infrastructure automation tools and technologies.
  • Responsible for full infrastructure / systems life cycle including, planning processes and project implementation support.
  • Plan, implement, and maintain best practices that will drive a scalable, cost effective, flexible infrastructure that is aligned with overall IT strategy and business goals.
  • Ensure availability of systems and infrastructure to meet defined SLA’s for business operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery programs (in conjunction with Business Continuity Management) for critical systems and infrastructure in the functional areas, ensuring business can execute their business continuity plans.
  • Comply with all deliverables, processes, and guidelines from internal departments such as legal, Internal Audit and Operations Control Group.
  • Responsible for vendor relationship management of hosted environments.
  • Research new infrastructure, cloud technologies and prototype solutions that can be leveraged to decrease costs and increase performance.
  • Manages multiple IT Infrastructure teams/functions: Cloud, Storage & Backup, SAP Basis, Office 365 and IT monitoring operations team.
  • Provides leadership to subordinates including assigning and managing work, monitoring performance, and conducting performance appraisals.
  • Foster teamwork and cross functional collaboration between Technical Services Team, Operations, Application Systems, Enterprise Information Security and others to achieve a high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor, direct and evaluate team members to maximize engagement and develop breadth and depth of technical skills.
  • Ensures all committed deliverables and associated timeframes are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering or computer science or equivalent experience preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in IT management position
  • 10+ years’ experience managing Windows / Linux server environments
  • 5+ years’ experience managing Hybrid Cloud Infrastructures – VMware / Azure / AWS.
  • 10+ years’ experience and understanding of virtualization platforms and technologies
  • Experience with modern networking / firewall and storage technologies such as Netapp or similar
  • Experience with managing infrastructure for SQL and HANA Database platforms
  • Experience managing Ofice365 environments
  • Basic experience managing SAP Basis Teams
  • Experience with managing 3rd party hosting environments
  • Experience managing NOC standards, policies and operating procedures
  • Excellent communication, conceptual, critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving abilities and organizational skills
  • Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills.
  • Experience with vendor management and contracts
  • Strong working experience in the DevOps methodology
  • Experience with cost allocation of resources/services in a shared service model.
  • Experience in creating disaster recovery plans for both on premise and cloud infrastructures.
  • Experience with technical project management
  • ITIL/ITSM, experience/certifications is a plus
