Job Description

We’re seeking a highly qualified business development manager to extend our global reach through expert discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships. Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:

1) Managing both our existing sales pipeline and developing new business opportunities

2) Take a lead role in the development of proposals (in conjunction with our Capture Manager and Capture Team) and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and relationships

3) Identify trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets

4) Develop strategies and positions by analyzing new venture integration

5) Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies, and delegate tasks that achieve strategic goals

6) Motivate the team, track performance, and report metrics

7) Drive successful revenue growth year on year

8) Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy

9) Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources

10) Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals in line with strategies, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics

11) Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company

12) Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis; negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals

13) Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, science or other related discipline required with a minimum of 5 years of BD experience. Master’s degree and Shiply training preferred.

Experience: 5 years of business development experience required

Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, track record of new business wins (product & federal contract)

Physical Demands: Up to 50% travel

Other Requirements: Weekly activity reporting, strong connection to Capture Team
