Job Description

Security clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI

 

· Perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on the Northern Telecom SL-100 switch

· Establish/add new lines and trunks

· Perform traffic measurements and translations to support call routing

· Install and troubleshoot single line telephones, ISDN circuits, M5009s, M5008s, M5316s, M5312 telephones and 2 wire /4 wire data circuits

· Install and maintain fiber optic cable; perform mechanical and fusion splicing

· Install and maintain DE-4 channel bank system

· Coordinate maintenance actions with Systems Center/Job Control/Help Desk

· Provide first-line QC of maintenance actions and identify deficiencies

· Coordinate access to Mission Centers with Systems Center/Job Control/Help Desk

· Prepare and enter shift documentation (logs/CAMS/Remedy inputs)

· Monitor work center status and safety; notify work center supervisor when necessary

· Post TO changes

· Prepare turn-in of TMDE for calibration (packing/shipping)

· Perform tool and test equipment inventories

· Ensure personal currency in ancillary training (CPR, fire, hazardous material handling)

· Maintain telephone/circuit installation records and schematics using CAIRS

· Process C4 Systems Requirements Documents (AF Form 3215) and write technical solutions

· Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI’s) on the SL-100 switch and Remote Switching Terminal

· Operate Emergency Switchboard during emergency and contingency operations until augmentees arrive, if needed

Qualifications

Security clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI

 

Technical Skills:

· 3-5 years in telephone systems maintenance or a related field

· Black Switch, Nortel MSL-100 switch experience

Required Certification:

· DoD 8570 IAT II Certification (e.g. Security+ CE, CISSP, GSEC, etc.). Please be prepared to provide proof of current certification at the time of submission

· Nortel Switch Certification

Background Experience Required:

· Must have excellent technical and communications skills to effectively interface with internal and external customers at all levels.

· Must be able to work in a high visibility command and control environment, focused on 24X7 mission availability, and quickly respond to customer direction/requests.

· Familiarity with military customs and courtesies desired.

Education:

· High school diploma; 2 years technical training or equivalent preferred; Nortel Switch certified
