Job Description

Role: Senior Mining Engineer
Location: FIFO ex-Perth, Weld Range, Western Australia
Roster: 8/6 Day shift only
Type: Permanent, Full-time

We are seeking an experienced mining professional to oversee mining operations, contractor performance, and safe operational delivery across site. Working closely with leadership, maintenance, processing, and technical teams, the role will support mine planning, drill and blast, operational performance, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety, production, and quality standards. The position will also contribute to long-term operational strategy and the mentoring and development of site personnel.

About the Role

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will:

  • Oversee and manage mining contractors, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, safety standards, and performance expectations
  • Assist Technical Services Superintendent in managing mine planning, scheduling, drill and blast, geotechnical, survey, and reconciliation activities
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with statutory and company HSE requirements
  • Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise productivity and cost performance
  • Collaborate closely with site leadership, maintenance, processing, and technical teams to ensure integrated operational delivery
  • Manage mining budgets, forecasts, and operational reporting requirements
  • Mentor and develop operational and technical personnel
  • Ensure adherence to mine plans, production schedules, and quality standards
  • Support long-term mine planning and operational strategy development

What You Bring

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience managing mining contractors and driving contractor performance
  • Strong understanding of Technical Services functions and the ability to oversee mine planning and operational support activities
  • Proven leadership and team management capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related discipline
  • Statutory qualifications and/or supervisor certifications highly regarded
