Job Description

We are currently hiring for PT Parcel Assistants


Job Summary: 

The primary responsibility of the Parcel Assistant is to move packages throughout the facility. Incumbent will be required to safely perform assigned tasks while meeting predetermined standards. In this flexible position, the incumbent will rotate into several areas to perform tasks including loading, unloading, palletizing, scanning, quality assurance assessment, moving items with a forklift and operating a switcher as assigned by Dock Manager or Lead Parcel Sorter. This is a part-time position. Available hours are based on business needs, but typically range from 15-25 hours per week.

Must be willing to work full time during peak season, November - December. Saturday or Sunday work maybe required along with evening and overnight shifts. The flexibility to work full time during busy seasons is required. 


Sort Observation Description:

Individuals who are interested in being considered for a Parcel Assistant position are required to attend a sort observation before completing an employment application. During the sort observation, interested individuals will have the opportunity to view an actual sort in operation and obtain a realistic preview of the Parcel Assistant job.

For the safety of everyone (employees, staffing associates, vendors, or visitors), anyone accessing the dock area must adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Shoes or work boots must be worn and be closed toe and closed heel with non-skid soles that are appropriate for a dock work environment. No heels or open-toed shoes are allowed. Shoelaces must be tied.

2. No loose clothing may be worn (i.e., baggy pants, flowing skirts/dresses, scarves, etc.).

3. Long sleeves must be buttoned, rolled up, or otherwise kept close to the arms.

4. Hair that extends beyond the shoulders must be secured.

5. No dangling clothing pieces, such as hoods or drawstrings.

6. Clothing must cover the back and abdomen during required movements of the individual's job. Undergarments should not show during work movements. No halter tops may be worn.


The following items are NOT allowed on the dock, please do not bring them to an observation:

• Backpacks

• Bags

• Purses

• Personal radio/electronic media device

• Cell phone (may be used after the observation to submit application)


Note: Only clear, see-through water bottles are allowed on the dock
