Job Description

This 16 month contract position is responsible for the production of various time-sensitive print and digital design projects including; advertisements, limited Tier 2 store signs, and additional promotional materials. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Production of approved signs and product item tags as required for all stores.
  • Production of digital media requirements; social media ads and some simple GIF animation.
  • Revising approved designs to meet various applications and size requirements.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and traditional filing systems, including: labels, brand and graphic standards.
  • Work closely with the Marketing, Public Relations and Print teams on various design projects.
  • May be required to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education with emphasis in Graphic Design or related field, plus a minimum of 1-year related experience working in a design related environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Well-developed computer skills, specifically in Adobe Creative Suite including: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Creative Cloud; Asana and Microsoft Office. (Asana can be learned in the role.)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills in, both oral and written.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keen eye for detail with good follow-up practices, specifically proof reading.
  • Willingness to work with direct supervision and guided feedback.
  • Experience in a retail environment shall be considered an asset.
  • Team player who is supportive, flexible and collaborative.

Work & Sensory Environment:

  • Lack of control over pace due to multiple and/or tight deadlines.
  • Noise from open office work space and possible interruptions.
  • Sitting and/or standing for long periods of time at workstations (e.g. while typing).
  • Possible exposure to eye strain from computer terminals.
