Job Description

This position is responsible for managing and executing a variety of marketing projects and programs including ongoing marketing campaigns, community donations, sponsorships and promotions. Supporting the Marketing Department Management team, you will ensure that all requirements are delivered in a timely manner adhering to established brand guidelines. The performance of all duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy way. 

Major Responsibilities 

  • Support the Marketing Department's initiatives with the planning, executing, and tracking of marketing programs such as seasonal campaigns, events, social media, or content marketing.
  • Assist with developing and managing marketing campaigns and public relations efforts.
  • Coordinate marketing and community events.
  • Plan and execute annual community fundraising campaigns.
  • Administer the corporate donation program, including responding to incoming requests and coordinating donations, tracking all activity and providing weekly update.
  • Support research and outreach to community partners in new and existing markets including food banks and hospital foundations.
  • Ensure timely execution of department administration including budget tracking and reporting.
  • May be requested to undertake other projects and duties as required.


  • Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in marketing, plus 1-2 years of experience in marketing (preferably with a focus on grocery retail), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of marketing, project management and event coordination fundamentals.
  • Proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a superior command of English language.
  • Well-developed computer skills, specifically in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and decisive with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent customer skills including tact, diplomacy, discretion and relationship building.
  • Passion for fresh food retailing and interest in nutrition and healthy living
  • Flexible schedule, including availability during evenings and weekends as required
  • Fluency in French shall be considered an asset. 

Work & Sensory Environment

  • May be required to perform physical tasks, including standing for long periods of time at community and store events
  • Lack of control over pace due to multiple and/or tight deadlines beyond one’s control.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Possible exposure to eye strain from computer terminals
  • Exposure to distractions caused by open office noise and frequent interruptions
