Job Description

Lunar Biosciences, Inc. is a startup company incubated by Fapon.

 

We are currently seeking a self-driven scientist to lead the effort of investigating molecular systems at the single molecule level and developing novel proteomics technologies. The ideal candidate will be at the Scientist level. The candidate will be responsible for executing plans, analyzing results, and brainstorming innovative ideas to design and engineer molecular systems.

 

Key Responsibilities               

  • Design and execute single- or multiple-channel ion transport measurements.
  • Initiate and conduct exploratory research to enhance single-molecule biophysical methods for nanopore sequencing.
  • Collect experimental data using diverse software tools and present summarized findings at internal meetings.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, or a related biological/life science field
  • Experience in executing nanopore detection or electrophysiological experiments
  • Strong quantitative analysis, troubleshooting, and statistical analysis skills
  • Working knowledge of LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python or equivalent programming/scripting languages for data analysis
  • Ability to work well in teams and across disciplines

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and integrating hardware and software components in data acquisition and fluidics
  • Experience with DNA sample preparation and molecular biology techniques
  • Previous experience with commercial nanopore platforms is a plus
  • Ability to manage and balance multiple projects in a dynamic environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Goal-oriented team player with a good work ethic
  • Scientific enthusiasm and integrity
