Job Description
In ensuring children and families that are eligible for services have access and are engaged in Head Start to support kindergarten readiness and a road to academic success. The Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance (ERSEA) Specialist works with agency staff in the development, implementation and monitoring of Early Head Start/Head Start ERSEA activities: eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance of Early Head Start/Head Start participants. The ERSEA Specialists supports the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of ERSEA data, ensuring all Head Start services are in compliance with regulatory and licensure requirements; and assists in the blending of administration and program to promote maximum efficiency of services delivery within Head Start programming.
Qualifications
1. Applied Associates degree in family child sciences, early childhood, systems management, family and child sciences, social work or related field required, with demonstrated competence in database maintenance and integrity attained through on-the-job training, required. Bachelor’s degree in education, early childhood education, social work, or related field preferred. 2. Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification, required. 3. Proficient with and have working knowledge of ChildPlus, Microsoft Office Operating Systems, word processing, spreadsheets and databases; basic understanding of database systems and their utilizations. 4. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines through effective time management. 5. Must be knowledgeable of Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start Act, and Texas Department of Family Protective Services Minimum Rules and Standards. 6. Demonstrated knowledge of agency and community resources and services, understands cultural differences and is sensitive to the implications of culture for service delivery; and familiar with family dynamics. Able to utilize various learning techniques in the successful delivery of Family and Community Support Services. 7. Experience working with children 0-5 years old and their families in an educational environment 8. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service both verbally and written. 9. Staff will be required to submit proof of their vaccination status or may request to be exempt from vaccination due to a religious and/or medical accommodation. 10. Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) desirable.
