Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative  Digital Buildings Engineer to join our growing team in Pune, India. In this role, you will be at the forefront of digital transformation, responsible for integrating diverse building management systems, IoT devices, and facility management solutions into cloud platforms. You will work collaboratively with global teams to design, configure, and optimize smart building solutions that drive operational efficiency and enable data-driven decision-making.   • Assess, analyze, and document existing building systems architecture, including BMS, HVAC, lighting, energy management, and IoT devices, to ensure compatibility with cloud migration strategies
  • Design and configure cloud infrastructure to receive, process, and manage data from various building systems across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Develop and implement secure data flow protocols from on-premises building systems to cloud platforms, ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance with cybersecurity best practices
  • Perform device qualification, testing, and validation of IoT devices and gateways across diverse manufacturers and ecosystems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data transmission, system compatibility, network connectivity, and device integration
  • Collaborate with device manufacturers, IT teams, and facility management stakeholders to support driver development, improve system compliance, and resolve technical challenges
  • Implement encryption, authentication, and access control measures to protect building and operational data throughout the integration process
  • Conduct pre- and post-onboarding testing to validate system performance and data integrity
  • Analyze system data and generate insights on building performance, sustainability, and operational efficiency for stakeholder reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of onboarding processes, system configurations, cloud settings, and technical specifications
  • Provide technical support and training to on-site staff and facility management teams on cloud-based building management tools
  • Represent the organization professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage workload efficiently, communicate proactively with team members, and escalate issues appropriately to leadership

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications & Experience**

  • **5+ years** of hands-on experience in building automation systems design, cloud integration, systems integration, or IT infrastructure roles
  • Demonstrated expertise in building controls systems and automation technologies
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data security protocols for cloud integrations
  • Proficiency in IP networking fundamentals (IPv4, IPv6, switching, routing, DHCP, WiFi, structured cabling)
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS) such as Niagara, Delmatic, Delta, or LoRaWAN
  • Hands-on experience in IoT device qualification, testing, and integration
  • Proven ability to conduct system audits and site surveys
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical processes clearly
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including IT, security, networking, and facility management
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple cloud platforms and diverse hardware/software ecosystems

**Education**

  • Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

**Preferred Qualifications & Certifications**

  • Certifications in BMS systems (Niagara, Delmatic, Delta, or LoRaWAN)
  • Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Experience with data analytics tools and applications
  • Knowledge of edge computing and data preprocessing methods for IoT systems
  • Project management fundamentals or experience
  • Familiarity with vendor management and cross-vendor integration challenges
