Title : Security Engineer
Location : Rockville, MD
Duration : 12+ months

Essential Job Functions: 

• Gather user requirements and translate those into implemented rules
• Work with end-users to troubleshoot connectivity issues
•Create enhanced monitoring of software defined perimeter solution
• Perform thorough testing of new software clients and work to have them deployed in production
• Collaborate with software Vendor to address issues as they arise
• Test and upgrade the AWS stack as new AMI’s become available Other Job Functions:
• Create documentation for end-users and other engineers.
• Automate manual tasks.
• Developing custom scripts to automate monitoring tasks Education/Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or information systems or other related field
• Knowledge of networking technologies such as firewalls, proxies, gateways, and load balancers
• Familiarity with many standard TCP/IP protocols such as DNS, SSH, HTTP(S), and TLS/SSL
• Experience with the Linux and Windows Operating Systems • Exposure to AWS Services: EC2, S3, LAMBDA all pluses
• Experience with python, perl, or other scripting language
• Splunk> experience a plus
• Any industry standard Security Certification a plus
