Job Description
In this position, you are a top-level Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) with expertise in Microsoft Azure Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence platforms ready to succeed with government customers and migration providers for transition planning to the MS Azure Cloud. You will work in a customer-facing role in a dynamic team environment with high-profile long-term cloud migration projects in the federal government. As part of an expert team, you are responsible for managing analysis, requirements building, planning and delivery of services to the MS Azure Cloud. As a CSA, you provide the Azure Cloud subject matter expertise to inform and develop architecture, usage, provisioning, and configuration solutions of IaaS and PaaS offerings. You have an opportunity to make a lasting impact with thousands of customers in their Azure Cloud transitions by delivering your best work to our projects. Your professional CSA skills and recommendations will guide users on optimization of available cloud offerings to include integration, aggregation, and orchestration of cloud services for cloud-native workloads or transformation and migration to the Azure cloud for optimal performance.
- Work closely with application owner, end-users, operations, and security leaders to ensure requirements are captured in the architecture design
- Analyze and rationalize application portfolios and define migration roadmaps and strategies
- Provide architectural support to the migration team for Azure Cloud transitions
- Engage stakeholders to gather technical requirements, architect solutions, and execute on deliverables
- Map customer system requirements to Microsoft Azure Cloud Services by converting technical requirements of a project into architecture and design that guide final products
- Work directly with customers, migration partners and team members (DevOps engineers and developers) to determine soft dependencies, identify best methods of migration (manual and automated) and define cloud services, architecture, and environments for hosting business application
- Participate in providing technology assessments in support of automation and technology migration initiatives
- Recommend cloud resource utilization and optimization based on monitored analytics reports on cloud consumption rates, trends, impact areas, and trouble areas
- Provide innovative methodologies to identify and solve migration, performance, scalability, reliability, and availability issues
- Utilize strong written and oral communications skills to translate architecture solution to customers and business owners
- Conduct whiteboard complex architecture reviews, write useful technical collateral, build PoCs, Pilots and MVPs for customers
- Act as a contributor or member of a team for projects within a defined area of responsibility; experience working independently in a matrixed team environment
- Perform a combination of routine, multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of the PM
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university preferably in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering)
- 8-10 years' relevant experience in technologies with 3+ years related to two or more of the following areas: Business Intelligence, Big Data, Data Governance, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence while leveraging data warehousing technologies like, SQL Data Warehouse, Teradata, Oracle, Netezza, Redshift etc. and used Machine Learning and AI services.
- Expert Certification(s) in Microsoft Azure Level 3 or higher (e.g., at least one from Azure Architect Technologies, Security Technologies, DevOps Solutions)
- Expert in relational databases and have working knowledge of any of the following: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Aurora Oracle, etc
- Experience Azure Virtual Machines, Storage, Virtual Networking, Inter-site Connectivity, Monitoring, Data Protection, Network Traffic Management, Azure Active Directory, Security Identities, Governance & Compliance, and Data Services among others
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint
- Experience with VMs, cloud-hosted environments, private/public/hybrid clouds, Microsoft Azure cloud services, including automation/infrastructure as a code
- Experience working independently in a matrixed team
- Experience producing strong written and oral communications deliverables to translate architecture solution to customers and business owners
- Experience delivering whiteboard-type complex architecture, useful technical collateral, band building PoCs, Pilots, and MVPs for customer
Desired Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree
- DoD 8570 Level 3 advanced network and computer information assurance compliant (CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH)
- Familiarity with DoD IT, information systems, DISA STIGs, APLs, and DECCs
- Expert Certification(s) in Microsoft Azure Level 3 or higher (e.g., Azure Architect Technologies, Security Technologies, DevOps Solutions)
- Knowledge of DevSecOps solutions
- Knowledge of FedRAMP and DoD CC SRG requirements and controls
Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen that is clearance eligible
- Must be willing to undergo a background investigation
Work Location:
- Fairfax, VA. Ability to travel to customer facilities (domestic and international) as needed
