Job Description

Due to tremendous growth, our client is currently seeking a dynamic and creative Business Development Associate to join their team. This is a highly visible role with significant communications with C-level executives and senior management of existing client companies to enhance business opportunities. The ideal candidate will not only possess a strong writing ability, but also the ability to solve complex problems quickly and creatively as well as have a STEM background.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Collecting, tracking, and reviewing commercial and federal opportunities under consideration and provide recommendations for bid/no-bid based on past practices and experiences
  • Analyzing RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and task orders to determine proposal requirements, develop outlines, and help write technical proposals, white papers and create pitch presentations
  • Applying lessons learned from past performance to interpret ambiguity in solicitation requirements, identify and mitigate risks to the proposal process, and collaborate with the team in order to effectively respond to the solicitation
  • Shredding solicitation requirements and develop response organization structure for government and commercial RFPs, RFIs, RFQs and task orders
  • Organizing, writing, editing, and formatting technical proposals consistent with response instructions using corporate templates and existing content where appropriate
  • Researching using multiple internal and external sources to create content to develop tailored proposal sections with consistent messaging
  • Coordinating with subcontractors, primes, and other organizations as needed ensuring counterparts understand timelines for submitting responses; on an as-needed basis resolves issues and clarify information to aid in moving the proposal process forward
  • Interview SMEs to extract highly-technical information and convert into effective proposal content per solicitation requirements
  • Support proposal production through preparation, editing and final binding of all proposals
  • Attend client meetings and calls in order to capture client requests and put together pitch decks and other materials to develop the customer relationship

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience writing technical documents or proposals.
  • Demonstrated work history with a desire to continue to grow, develop, and advance beyond the Business Development Associate position.
  • Prior experience working with a proposal team in a matrix environment with teams of varying level of skill, from first time participants to managers and executives.
  • Experience with data science, programming or analytics-related skills and technologies terminology is a strong plus.
  • Ability to integrate knowledge from research, interviews with SMEs and relevant company experience to develop concise business and marketing communications.
  • Ability to work closely with and develop strong client relationships.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office suite, including the ability to create eye catching, well designed PowerPoint presentations and graphics.
  • Must be able to manage competing priorities and make decisions concerning job operations with limited direction and input.
  • Must possess excellent writing and communication skills.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with code delivery mechanisms and code repositories (e.g. Subversion and/or Git).
  • Experience with continuous delivery solutions, such as Hudson, Jenkins, or Puppet
  • Experience in developing and maintaining applications in the Sponsor’s environment and associated security processes.
  • Experience developing in an Agile environment, including Scrum and user stories.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and operating enterprise scale, web-based applications in the IC/DoD environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a cross security domains environment.
  • Demonstrated experience participating in Agile development teams.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL environment and technologies.
