We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Affordable Housing Maintenance Technician to join our team in Pomona, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of apartment homes, buildings, and grounds in our affordable housing community. The ideal candidate will have a diverse skill set and a commitment to providing safe and comfortable living environments for our residents.

Pay: $19 - $21 / Hour

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on apartment units, common areas, and building systems
  • Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and address issues efficiently
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and resolve potential maintenance problems
  • Maintain and repair various systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances
  • Perform painting, drywall repair, and basic carpentry tasks as needed
  • Assist in unit turnover processes, ensuring apartments are in excellent condition for new residents
  • Collaborate with property management team to ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency maintenance services
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while performing job duties
  • Assist in preparing the property for various inspections, including NSPIRE, MOR, TCAC, and CALFHA
  • Contribute to the overall curb appeal and aesthetics of the property through grounds maintenance

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in residential property maintenance, affordable housing maintenance, or related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or CAMT certification preferred
  • Proficiency in various maintenance skills, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair
  • Knowledge of affordable housing regulations and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with inspection processes such as NSPIRE, MOR, TCAC, and CALFHA
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to wear a respirator and comply with company facial hair policy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Basic computer skills, including email and internet use
  • Customer service-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work on-call shifts and respond to emergency maintenance requests
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Resilient and adaptable in facing diverse maintenance challenges
