Job Description

Summary
The Territory Sales Manager – Food Service will be responsible for maximizing sales and growth of Foodservice business for the Northern California Pacific North West territory. Responsibilities include maximizing existing business with current customers and distribution partners as well as developing and penetrating accounts in Food Service Segment. This position will be accountable for profitable sales growth, allotted budget maintenance, new product placements, and promotional activities.

Essential Functions

  • Develop sales goals quarterly and annually
  • Strategize on increasing the volume of current and new customers to meet goals
  • Maintain contact and records to review status of target
  • Maximize existing business
  • Introduce customers to new standard products and items
  • Develop programs and initiatives to bring standards on board
  • Educate customers about all venues for advertising the company brand and other brands that FOODMatch represents
  • Partner with customer to develop business on a mutual basis
  • Serve as primary contact with Foodservice customers
  • Communicate with the NY office about current customer needs and deadlines
  • Develop new business
  • Product Liaison
  • Research competition and familiarize product development team with hot items or trends
  • Communicate ideas and requests for new items
  • Forward samples of potential new items to the President for consideration and development
  • Regional Broker Management; Manage, maintain, and direct the broker network
  • Regional and National Food Shows; Develop a table of required deadlines for each food show with the food show coordinator
  • Participation in National and Regional shows

Qualifications

  • 1-5+ years of relevant Sales experience
  • Food Service experience preferred
  •  A commitment to excellent customer service
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and brokers
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with a CRM is preferred
  • A love of good food and an interest in the specialty food industry. Bonus if you like Mediterranean food!

Location/Travel Requirements

  • This role requires significant travel (~25% - 35%)
  • Remote, based in Northern California
