Job Description

Summary
The Sales Representative will be responsible for supporting the Retail Business by maximizing sales and growth for the designated territory. Responsibilities include maximizing existing business with current customers as well as developing new accounts in the retail area. The Sales Rep will facilitate retail sales objectives including retail-specific merchandising tasks, end-user new items, and product assortment review. Coordinate and manage corporate buying calls. This position will be accountable for profitable sales growth, allotted budget maintenance, new product placements, and promotional activities.

Essential Functions 

  • Assist in developing quarterly and annual sales goals, and define the budget needed to meet those goals.
  • Increase the volume of current and new business to meet retail goal
  • Maximize existing business
  • Olive Bar - Increase store comps through the implementation of schematics, product training, and point of sale
  • Be aware of category review schedules
  • Work with management to implement retail grocery promotional programs
  • Serve as primary contact with retail end-users
  • Assist with product demonstrations as needed
  • Communicate with manager on current customer needs and deadlines 
  • Develop new business
  • Look for new customers and develop new areas of business; offer creative initiatives to purchase new items
  • Develop and personalize POS packages for customer’s sales force; work with the NY office on packages and samples for new product launches
  • Research competition and familiarize FOODMatch product development team with hot items/trends
  • Communicate ideas and requests for new items; forward samples of potential new items to the manager for consideration and development
  •  As directed by manager, work with regional brokers in setting yearly and quarterly goals as well as conducting quarterly trainings on new items and updated FOODMatch objectives
  • Coordinate regional and national food show participation deadlines and requirements with the marketing and sales support team for your sample and POS needs
  •  Perform any other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate in both English and Spanish
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  •  2+ years’ experience in direct or outside sales
  • Understanding of the sales process and dynamics
  •  A commitment to excellent customer service
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and brokers
  • A love of good food and an interest in the specialty food industry. Bonus if you like Mediterranean food!
